In choosing consultants to help with your Oracle project, there are three key factors to look for: o First, you must select a firm whose consultants – the folks on the ground actually doing the work - are seasoned business people. You want people who have worked with several companies and understand the business issues driving the software project. o Second, you want to select consultants who have been through numerous Oracle implementation projects, and will bring true Oracle expertise to your project – you don’t want to pay the consulting firm to train its people on your nickel! And it’s important to ensure that the entire team of consultants is experienced, not just one or two “experts”. o Third, you want consultants who have a breadth of expertise. Functional consultants should understand not just one or two processes, but multiple processes. They should be aware of the impact that decisions in the setup of one module can have on other modules. Technical consultants on an Oracle applications project should be experts not only in the base Oracle tools, but also in the underlying table structures and architecture of the E-Business Suite.
